मय्यर्पितात्मनः सभ्य निरपेक्षस्य सर्वतः ।
मयात्मना सुखं यत्तत्कुतः स्याद्विषयात्मनाम् ॥
mayy arpitātmanaḥ sabhya nirapekṣasya sarvataḥ |
mayātmanā sukhaṁ yat tat kutaḥ syād viṣayātmanām ||
(Śrīmad Bhāgavatam: 11.14.12)
“O noble one, how can those of mind upon objects of the senses have the happiness on account of me, the Self, which those of mind offered to me, who are indifferent to everything [else], have?”
Commentary
bhakter mukhyatvam āha—mayīti yāvat samāpti | he sabhya! mayā paramānanda-rūpeṇa ātmanā svarūpatvena sphuratā |

“He describes the primacy of bhakti from mayy … [i.e., this verse] until the end [of the chapter]. O noble one …. ‘On account of me, the Self’ (mayātmanā) means on account of [my] appearing as the True Self (Svarūpa), the form of which is supreme bliss.”
ātmanā pūrṇa-sac-cid-ānanda-lakṣaṇa-paramātmatayā parama-preṣṭha-rūpeṇa | tatrāpi mayā sarvāścarya-rūpa-guṇādi-viśiṣṭa-mad-rūpeṇa sphuratety arthaḥ | viṣayātmanām iti mad-atirikta-puruṣārthinaḥ sarva eva viṣayātmana iti bhāvaḥ |

“‘On account of the Self’ (Ātmanā) means on account of that [Self] the form of which is the Supreme Dear One by virtue of being the Supreme Self (Paramātmā) possessed of the nature of complete eternal being, consciousness, and bliss. Further in that regard, ‘on account me’ (mayā) means on account of [my] appearing in the form of myself replete with a figure, qualities, and so forth that are astonishing to all. Regarding, ‘Those of mind upon objects of the senses’ (viṣayātmanām), the purport is that verily everyone possessed of an aim as an embodied being (puruṣārtha) other than me is one of mind upon objects of the senses.”
