अलौकिकी त्वियं कृष्णरतिः सर्वाद्भुताद्भुता ।
योगे रसविशेषत्वं गच्छन्त्येव हरिप्रिये ॥
alaukikī tv iyaṁ kṛṣṇa-ratiḥ sarvādbhutādbhutā |
yoge rasa-viśeṣatvaṁ gacchanty eva hari-priye ||

“This otherworldly rati for Kṛṣṇa, an astonishment beyond all [other] astonishments, however, certainly in union [i.e., when a meeting with Kṛṣṇa occurs] reaches the distinctive state of rasa in a dear one of Hari.”
Commentary
atha tatraiva sva-matānukāryādiṣv api rasam upapādayati—alaukikī tv iti | mokṣānandasyāpi tiraskāritvāt | sarvānanda-mūlasya śrī-bhagavato’py ānandakatvāt, sarveti—śrī-bhagavat-prādurbhāvāntarāṇāṁ ratito’pi paramādhikyāt | tac ca svayaṁ śrī-kṛṣṇena tad-bhakta-vareṇa ca ‘yan martya-līlaupayikam’ ity ādy anubhavāt | hari-priye sākṣāt-tad-anubhavitari tal-līlā-parikare rateḥ paramāśraye |

“Now, specifically in this regard [i.e., in regard to the relation with rasa of the characters, actors, and audience of poetry and drama], he establishes rasa [as existent] even in the characters (anukāryas) and so forth as per his own view: alaukikī tu … [i.e., he speaks this verse]. [Rati for Kṛṣṇa is said to be ‘otherworldly’ (alaukikī)] Because of [its] being surpassing of even the bliss of mokṣa and because of [its] being a cause of bliss even for Śrī Bhagavān, who is the source of all bliss. [Rati for Kṛṣṇa is said to be] ‘The astonishment beyond all other astonishments’ (sarveti) because of [its] being greatly superior even to the rati for manifest descents [i.e., avatāras] of [i.e., other forms of] Śrī Bhagavān, and that is because of experience [of such supreme astonishment] by Śrī Kṛṣṇa himself and the best of his bhaktas [i.e., Uddhava], as per [Uddhava’s statement in SB 3.2.12], ‘To show the power of his own yogamāyā, he [i.e., Śrī Kṛṣṇa] assumed [that form of his] which is suited to human [-like] līlā, which is astonishing even to himself, which is the apogee of the excellence of loveliness, and in which the limbs are the ornaments of the ornaments [upon them].’ ‘In a dear one of Hari’ (Hari-priye) means in one who is direct experiencer of him, a participant in his līlā, a paramount vessel of rati.”

That [experience is described] as follows in the Third Canto [i.e., SB 3.2.12, in the phrases], ‘Astonishing even to himself’ and ‘To show the power of his own yogamāyā, he [i.e., Śrī Kṛṣṇa] assumed [that form of his] which is suited to human [-like] līlā.’ This was [also] experienced by the Supreme Lord of Paravyoma [lit., ‘the Higher Sky, viz., Vaikuṇṭha], Mahānārāyaṇa, who said in the Tenth Canto [i.e., in SB 10.89.58, to Śrī Kṛṣṇa and Arjuna], ‘O you two who have descended with your potencies to protect dharma, out of desire to see you two, I have brought the brāhmaṇa’s sons to My abode.’ ‘In a dear one of Hari’ (Hari-priye) means in one who is direct experiencer of him, a participant in his līlā, a paramount vessel of rati.”
