अथो महाभाग भवानमोघदृक्
शुचिश्रवा: सत्यरतो धृतव्रत: ।
उरुक्रमस्याखिलबन्धमुक्तये
समाधिनानुस्मर तद्विचेष्टितम् ॥
atho mahābhāga bhavān amogha-dṛk
śuci-śravāḥ satya-rato dhṛta-vrataḥ |
urukramasyākhila-bandha-muktaye
samādhinānusmara tad-viceṣṭitam ||
(Śrīmad Bhāgavatam: 1.5.13)
[Nārada to Vyāsa:] “Therefore, O most fortunate one, you who are of unerring vision, of pure glory, dedicated to truth, and of resolute vows, with full absorption (samādhi) should remember and describe the [illustrious] variegated acts of Urukrama for the liberation of all [beings] from bondage.”
Commentary
samādhinā cittaikāgryeṇa smara | līlā hi bhaktimati śuddhe citte svayam eva sphurati tasyāḥ sva-prakāśatvād anantatvād atirahasyatvād anyathā kenāpi vaktuṁ gṛhītaṁ cāśakyatvād iti bhāvaḥ | smṛtyā ca varṇaya |

“Remember [Bhagavān’s various acts] with one-pointedness of mind (samādhi). The līlā manifests itself in a purified mind endowed with bhakti because of its [i.e., Bhagavān’s līlā’s] self-manifestness, infiniteness, and great confidentiality, and its [thus] being unable to be described or grasped by anyone otherwise [i.e., unless it self-manifests itself; thus it can only be remembered (upon being received) and is not something achieved or produced]. This is the purport. After remembering it [in this way], describe it [for the liberation of all beings from bondage].”
