अन्तः कृष्णं बहिर्गौरं दर्शिताङ्गादिवैभवम् ।
कलौ सङ्कीर्तनाद्यैः स्मः कृष्णचैतन्यमाश्रिताः ॥
antaḥ kṛṣṇaṁ bahir gauraṁ darśitāṅgādi-vaibhavam |
kalau saṅkīrtanādyaiḥ smaḥ kṛṣṇa-caitanyam āśritāḥ ||

“Through saṅkīrtana and so forth in [the Age of] Kali, we have taken shelter in Kṛṣṇa Caitanya, who is internally Kṛṣṇa, externally golden, and manifest with the magnificence of his limbs and so forth [i.e., along with his sub-limbs, weapons, and associates].”
Commentary
tad etat sarvam avadhāryāpi paramotkṛṣṭenārthena tam eva stauti—‘antaḥ kṛṣṇam’ ity-ādinā | darśitaṁ caitat parama-vidvac-chiromaṇinā śrī-sārvabhauma-bhaṭṭācāryeṇa—kālān naṣṭaṁ bhakti-yogaṁ nijaṁ yaḥ prāduṣkartuṁ kṛṣṇa-caitanya-nāmā | āvirbhūtas tasya pādāravinde gāḍhaṁ gāḍhaṁ līyatāṁ citta-bhṛṅgaḥ || iti |

“Then, even after having ascertained all this [i.e., the meaning and purport of the kṛṣṇa-varṇa verse in Śrīmad Bhāgavatam (11.5.32)], the author praises him in particular [i.e., Svayaṁ Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa directly self-manifest as Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanyadeva] in accord with the supremely excellent meaning [of the kṛṣṇa-varṇa verse explained in the commentary earlier on that verse]: antaḥ kṛṣṇam … [i.e., he composes this second verse]. This [i.e., Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanyadeva’s being Svayaṁ Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa himself] has also been shown by the crest-jewel of the greatly learned, Śrī Sārvabhauma Bhaṭṭācārya [as recorded in Caitanya-candrodaya-nāṭaka, 6.74]: ‘May the bee of my heart be deeply, deeply absorbed to the lotus feet of he bearing the name Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya who has appeared to manifest the practice of bhakti to himself which had been lost in the course of time.’”
kṛṣṇa-varṇa-padya-vyākhyā-vyājena tad-artham āśrayati—antar iti | sphuṭārthaḥ |

“By means of explaining the kṛṣṇa-varṇa verse [of Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, (11.5.32)], the author takes shelter in its object [alt., meaning]: antar … [i.e., he composes this second verse wherein he takes shelter in the object described in the verse, viz., Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanyadeva]. The meaning [of the verse] is clear.”
