premṇo bhareṇaiva nijeṣṭa-nāma-

(Bṛhad Bhāgavatāmṛta: 2.3.166)
“It [i.e., nāma-saṅkīrtana] is even said by some knowers of rasa to be the foremost characteristic of a profusion of prema for Kṛṣṇa, as saṅkīrtana of the names of one’s own Iṣṭa with pronounced heartache certainly manifests with a profusion of prema.”
Commentary
evaṁ nāma-saṅkīrtana-premṇor anyo’nyaṁ kārya-kāraṇatā siddhā | tato’bhedo’pi siddha iti dik |
(Excerpt from the Dig-darśinī-ṭīkā)
“In this way the status of nāma-saṅkīrtana and prema each being the others’ cause and effect is established. Thus, their being also non-different is established. This is the drift.”
