kṛṣṇa-līlāmṛta-sāra, tāra śata śata dhāra,
daśa-dike vahe yāhā haite |
se caitanya-līlā haya, sarovara akṣaya,
mano-haṁsa carāha tāhāte ||
(Caitanya-caritāmṛta: 2.25.264)
“Kṛṣṇa-līlā is the essence of nectar, and Caitanya-līlā is the inexhaustible reservoir from which hundreds of streams of it flow in the ten directions. May the swan of your heart play there.”
ko’yaṁ paṭṭa-dhaṭī-virājita-kaṭī-deśaḥ kare kaṅkaṇaṁ
hāraṁ vakṣasi kuṇḍalaṁ śravaṇayor bibhrat pade nūpurau |
ūrdhvīkṛtya nibaddha-kuntala-bhara-protphulla-mallī-sragā-
pīḍaḥ krīḍati gaura-nāgara-varo nṛtyan nijair nāmabhiḥ ||

“Wearing a silk sash around his waist, bracelets on his wrists, a necklace across his chest, earrings on his ears, bells on his ankles, and a garland-crown of blooming jasmine flowers atop his top-knotted wavy hair—who is that golden king of revelers who frolics, dancing to [the chanting of] his own names?”
vairāgya-vidyā-nija-bhakti-yoga-
śikṣārtham ekaḥ puruṣaḥ purāṇaḥ |
śrī-kṛṣṇa-caitanya-śarīra-dhārī
kṛpāmbudhir yas tam ahaṁ prapadye ||

“I take shelter in him, the ocean of grace, the one, primeval Puruṣa, who assumed the form of Śrī Krṣṇa Caitanya to teach the principles of vairāgya and bhakti-yoga to himself [i.e., Śrī Kṛṣṇa].”
śrī-rādhāyāḥ praṇaya-mahimā kīdṛśo vānayaivā-
svādyo yenādbhuta-madhurimā kīdṛśo vā madīyaḥ |
saukhyañ cāsyā mad-anubhavataḥ kīdṛśaṁ veti lobhāt
tad-bhāvāḍhyaḥ samajani śacī-garbha-sindhau harīnduḥ ||

“‘What is the greatness of Śrī Rādhā’s love? What sort of astonishing sweetness of mine is relishable only by her through that [love]? And what sort of happiness does she feel as a result of experiencing me?’ Out of such intense desire [i.e., intensely desiring to experience these three mysteries], the moon Hari, endowed with her bhāva, arose from the ocean of Śacī’s womb.”
yo’jñāna-mattaṁ bhuvanaṁ kṛpālur
ullāghayann apy akarot pramattam |
sva-prema-sampat-sudhayādbhutehaṁ
śrī-kṛṣṇa-caitanyam amuṁ prapadye ||

“I take shelter in him,
The gracious Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya,
Astonishing in his activities,
Who cured the world
Maddened by ignorance,
And drove it thoroughly mad,
With the nectar of the wealth

Of prema for himself.”

“Bhagavān Śrī Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanyadeva, the purifier of the [jīvas of] Kali-yuga, the avatāra whose purpose is distribution of his own service ….”
tādṛśa-bhāvaṁ bhāvaṁ
prathayitum iha yo’vatāram āyātaḥ |
ādurjana-gaṇa-śaraṇaṁ
sa jayati caitanya-vigrahaḥ kṛṣṇaḥ ||

“May Kṛṣṇa,
He who descended here [i.e., to this earth]
To distribute bhāva of such nature [i.e., the bhāva of Śrī Rādhā’s sakhīs, as described in the previous verse],
The shelter of [all, including] even depraved persons,
He who has a form of [constituted of] consciousness,
[alt., He who is manifest in the form of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu],
Triumph!”
anarpita-carīṁ cirāt karuṇayāvatīrṇaḥ kalau
samarpayitum unnatojjvala-rasāṁ sva-bhakti-śriyam |
hariḥ puraṭa-sundara-dyuti-kadamba-sandīpitaḥ
sadā hṛdaya-kandare sphuratu vaḥ śacī-nandanaḥ ||

“Having graciously descended in the Age of Kali to bestow in full his own wealth of bhakti [alt., the wealth of bhakti to himself] replete with the most elevated, brilliant rasa [i.e., ujjvala-rasa], which had not been offered since long ago, may [he, the lion-like] Hari, the Son of Śacī, fully radiant with beautiful golden luster, be manifest always in the cave of your heart.”
yebā nāhi bujhe keha śunite śunite seha
ki adbhuta caitanya-carita |
kṛṣṇe upajibe prīti jānibe rasera rīti
śunilei baḍa haya hita ||

“How wonderful! By continuously hearing about Caitanya’s līlā, even someone who does not understand it will develop prīti for Kṛṣṇa and understand the way of rasa. Simply by listening, such great benefit occurs!”
gaura-kathā payorāśī kṛṣṇa-dāsa tāhe bhāsi
āniyāche amṛtera dhāra |
sei kāvya-sudhā pāne vaiṣṇava śītala prāṇe
āra pite cāhe bāra bāra ||

“After floating out into the milk reservoir of discussion of Gaura, Kṛṣṇa Dāsa has brought back a stream of nectar. By drinking the nectar of this poetry, Vaiṣṇavas’ hearts are cooled, and they desire to drink more again and again.”
