सरिच्छैलवनोद्देशान्मुकुन्दपदभूषितान् ।
आक्रीडानीक्ष्यमाणानां मनो याति तदात्मताम् ॥
saric-chaila-vanoddeśān mukunda-pada-bhūṣitān |
ākrīḍān īkṣyamāṇānāṁ mano yāti tad-ātmatām ||
(Śrīmad Bhāgavatam: 10.46.22)
“The mind of those who behold the rivers, hills, forests, spots, and pleasure-grounds decorated by the feet of Mukunda enter a state of absorption in him.”
Commentary
“A state of absorption in him” (tad-ātmatām) refers to a state of mind that is filled with manifestations (sphūrtis) of Śrī Kṛṣṇa or that is attached and fixed upon Śrī Kṛṣṇa such that the mind withdraws from all else, as per the import of the commentaries of Śrī Jīva Gosvāmīpāda (tad-ātmatāṁ tat-sphūrtimayatāṁ) and Śrī Viśvanātha Cakravartīpāda (tad-ātmatāṁ tat-sphūrti-mayatāṁ tasmin līnatāṁ vā). Śrī Jīvapāda also comments that Nanda Mahārāja speaks this verse to Uddhava to imply that this state of absorption happens for all living beings throughout Vraja, and thus that it does so all the more for he and others who have intimate relationships with Kṛṣṇa (īkṣamāṇānāṁ prāṇi-mātrāṇāṁ kim utāsmākaṁ).
