Catuḥ-ślokī
Four verses expressing conviction in the worship of Śrī Kṛṣṇa
By Śrīmad Vallabhācārya
sarvadā sarva-bhāvena bhajanīyo vrajādhipaḥ |
svasyāyam eva dharmo hi nānyaḥ kvāpi kadācana || 1 ||
At all times and in all ways the Lord of Vraja is to be worshiped. This alone is one’s dharma, and indeed never anywhere is anything else.
evaṁ sadā sma kartavyaṁ svayam eva kariṣyati |
prabhuḥ sarva-samartho hi tato niścintatāṁ vrajet || 2 ||
Hence, he himself alone will always certainly do thath which is to be done. Prabhu is indeed omnipotent. Therefore, be free from worry [since he can and will see to your well-being perfectly and more so than you can for yourself].
yadi śrī-gokulādhīśo dhṛtaḥ sarvātmanā hṛdi |
tataḥ kiṁ aparaṁ brūhi laukikair vaidikair api || 3 ||
If the Lord of Śrī Gokula is held at heart with one‘s whole being, then tell [me], what more [is the use] of the worldly and even the Vedic?
ataḥ sarvātmanā śaśvad gokuleśvara-pādayoḥ |
smaraṇaṁ bhajanaṁ cāpi na tyājyaṁ iti me matiḥ || 4 ||
Therefore, continuously remembering and worshipping the feet of the Lord of Gokula with one‘s whole being is never to be given up. This is my determination.
