hṛd-vapre nava-bhakti-śasya-vitateḥ sañjīvanī svāgamā

hṛd-vapre nava-bhakti-śasya-vitateḥ sañjīvanī svāgamā-
rambhe kāma-tapa-rtu-dāha-damanī viśvāpagollāsinī |
dūrān me maru-śākhino’pi sarasī-bhāvāya bhūyāt prabhu-
śrī-caitanya-kṛpā-niraṅkuśa-mahā-mādhurya-kādambinī ||
(Mādhurya-kādambinī: 1.1)

“The revitalizer of the grains of young bhakti in the field of the heart, the subduer from its outset of the burning of the hot season of kāma, the delighter of the rivers of the world—may that great, unrestrained cloud bank (kādambinī) of the mellifluousness (mādhurya) of Prabhu Śrī Caitanya’s grace from afar fill even me, a [dry] tree in the desert, with rasa [i.e., water, alt., bhakti-rasa].”

heloddhūnita-khedayā viśadayā pronmīlad-āmodayā
śāmyac-chāstra-vivādayā rasa-dayā citārpitonmādayā |
śaśvad-bhakti-vinodayā samadayā mādhurya-maryādayā
śrī-caitanya dayā-nidhe tava dayā bhūyād amandodayā ||
(Caitanya-candrodaya-nāṭakam: 8.14; cited in Caitanya-caritāmṛta: 2.10.119)

“O ocean of grace, Śrī Caitanya! May your grace arising in abundance with the limit of mādhurya—[mādhurya] by which lamentation is easily cast away, which is brilliant [i.e., pure], which fully expands delight, which resolves dispute over śāstra, which bestows rasa, by which unmāda [i.e., madness] is cast into the mind, which manifests eternal delight in bhakti, and which is endowed with mada [i.e., jubilation]—be [bestowed upon me].”

datvā yaḥ kam api prasādam atha sambhāṣya smita-śrī-mukhaṁ
dūrāt snigdha-dṛśā nirīkṣya ca mahāpremotsavaṁ yacchati |
yeṣāṁ hanta kutarka-karkaśa-dhiyāṁ tatrāpi nātyādaraḥ
sākṣāt pūrṇa-rasāvatāriṇi harau duṣṭā amī kevalam ||
(Caitanya-candrāmṛta: 45)

“Bestowing grace upon anyone, he converses with them with a beautiful smiling face, looks at them from afar with an affectionate glance, and offers them a festival of the greatest prema. Alas! Those of quibbling and harsh mind who do not deeply adore him, Hari himself, the revealer of the ultimate rasa, are simply depraved.”

kāṣṭha-pāṣāṇa-dhātūnāṁ

kāṣṭha-pāṣāṇa-dhātūnāṁ kṛtvā bhāvena sevanam |
śraddhayā ca tathā siddhis tasya viṣṇu-prasādataḥ ||
(Cāṇakya-nīti-darpaṇa: 8.12)

“If one serves that which is made of wood, stone, or metal [i.e., a deity] with bhāva and śraddhā, then siddhi [i.e., success in one’s worship] occurs by Viṣṇu’s grace.”

śrī-kṛṣṇacandra kasyāpi tṛptir astu kadāpi na |
bhavato’nugrahe bhaktau premṇi cānanda-bhājane ||
vidagdha-nikarācārya ko nāmāyaṁ varo mataḥ |
svabhāvo mat-kṛpā-bhakti-premṇāṁ vyakto’yam eva yat ||
(Bṛhad Bhāgavatāmṛta: 1.7.135–6)

[Nārada said:] “O Śrī Kṛṣṇacandra, may no one ever feel satiated by your grace, by bhakti [to you], or by prema [for you], all of which are reservoirs of bliss.”

[Bhagavān replies Nārada:] “O ācārya of the clever, what kind of benediction is this? This nature of my grace, bhakti [to me], and prema [for me] is well known.”

sādhanābhiniveśena

sādhanābhiniveśena kṛṣṇa-tad-bhaktayos tathā |
prasādenātidhanyānāṁ bhāvo dvedhābhijāyate |
ādyas tu prāyikas tatra dvitīyo viralodayaḥ ||
(Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu: 1.3.6)

“Bhāva manifests in the greatly fortunate in two ways: (1) by absorption in sādhana and (2) by the grace of Kṛṣṇa or his devotee. In this regard, the first is common, and the second is a rare occurrence.”

kṛṣṇa-tad-bhakta-kāruṇya

kṛṣṇa-tad-bhakta-kāruṇya-mātra-lābhaika-hetukā |
puṣṭi-mārgatayā kaiścid iyaṁ rāgānugocyate ||
(Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu: 1.2.309)

“Because the only cause for attaining it is simply the grace of Kṛṣṇa and his bhaktas, this rāgānugā [-bhakti] is called puṣṭi-mārga by some.”

dūrān niśamya mahimānam upetya pārśvam
antaḥ praviśya śubha-bhāgavatāmṛtābdheḥ |
paśyāmi kṛṣṇa-karuṇāñjana-nirmalena
hṛl-locanena bhagavad-bhajanaṁ hi ratnam ||
(Viṣṇu Purī’s Bhakti-ratnāvalī: 6)

“After hearing from afar, approaching the bank [i.e., studying], and then entering within [i.e., understanding the confidential meaning of] the greatness of the ocean of the nectar that is the bountiful Bhāgavatam, I see with the eyes of my heart purified by the collyrium of Kṛṣṇa’s compassion that Bhagavad-bhajana alone is the jewel [i.e., bhakti is essential to the attainment of all puruṣārthas and furthermore is the ultimate puruṣārtha itself].”

yāḥ sampado divi bhūmau rasāyām |
na rāti yad dveṣa udvega ādhir
madaḥ kalir vyasanaṁ samprayāsaḥ ||
(Śrīmad Bhāgavatam: 6.11.22)

“To persons of one-pointed mind who are his own, he certainly does not bestow the riches which are [found] in Heaven, on Earth, or in Rasā, and from which enmity, fear, anxiety, conceit, quarrel, plight, and exertion ensue.”

“[Nārada to Prācīnabarhi:] When Bhagavān, being meditated upon within the heart, favors one, then one abandons resolute regard for the world [i.e., social conventions] and the Veda [i.e., injunctions given in the Vedas].”
