देवी कृष्णमयी प्रोक्ता राधिका परदेवता ।
सर्वलक्ष्मीमयी सर्वकान्तिः सम्मोहिनी परा ॥

“She is known as Devī, Kṛṣṇamayī, Rādhikā, Paradevatā, Sarvalakṣmīmayī, Sarvakānti, Sammohinī, and Parā.”

Commentary

According to Śrī Kṛṣṇa Dāsa Kavirāja Gosvāmī’s explanation in Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta 1.4, Devī means ‘she who is resplendent and supremely beautiful,’ or ‘she who is the abode of Kṛṣṇa’s play and worship.‘ Kṛṣṇamayī means ‘she who’s within and without are Kṛṣṇa—wherever her eyes fall, there Kṛṣṇan appears,’ or ‘she who, as Kṛṣṇa’s potency, is non-different from Him.’ Rādhikā means ‘she whose worship is fulfilling Kṛṣṇa’s desires.’ Paradevatāmeans ‘she who is worshippable to all,’ or ’she who is the supreme goddess and protectress of all.’ Sarva-lakṣmīmayī means ‘she who is the origin of Lakṣmī, all her expansions, and all other goddesses;’ ‘she who is the proprietress of Kṛṣṇa’s six opulences;’ or ‘she who is the best of Kṛṣṇa’s potencies.’ Sarva-kānti means ‘she who is abode of all beauty;’ ‘she from whom all the Lakṣmīs derive their beauty;’ ‘she who is the object of all Kṛṣṇa’s desires;’ or, ‘she who fulfils all of Kṛṣṇa’s desires.’ Sammohinī means ‘she who is supremely enchanting,’ or ‘she who enchants even Kṛṣṇa, who is the enchanter of the world.’ Parā means ‘she who is above all.’
