तत्र श्रीवासुदेवस्य सर्वदेवशिरोमणेः ।
पादाम्बुजैकभागेव दीक्षा ग्राह्या मनीषिभिः ॥
tatra śrī-vāsudevasya sarva-deva-śiromaṇeḥ |
pādāmbujaika-bhāg eva dīkṣā grāhyā manīṣibhiḥ ||
(Hari-bhakti-vilāsa: 1.103)
“In this regard [i.e., in regard to dīkṣā being accepted], dīkṣā, that is, taking shelter solely in the lotus feet of Śrī Vāsudeva, the crest-jewel of all devas, is to be accepted by the wise [since otherwise only indiscretion occurs].”
Commentary
tatra tasyāṁ gṛhyamānāyāṁ dīkṣāyāṁ pādāmbujam ekam eva bhajati āśrayatīti tathā sā | manīṣibhir iti | anyathā nirbuddhitaiveti bhāvaḥ |

“In that regard (tatra), that is, in regard to the dīkṣā that is to be accepted, that [dīkṣa] which serves, that is, takes shelter of, solely (eka) the lotus feet (pādāmbujam) [of Śrī Vāsudeva is to be accepted] by the wise. Otherwise, only indiscretion occurs. This is the purport.”
