प्रभो सुनिर्णीतमिदं प्रतीहि
त्वदीयपादाब्जयुगस्य तत्र ।
शुभप्रयाणं न विनास्य जीवे-
द्व्रजः कथञ्चिन्न च किञ्चिदिच्छेत् ॥
prabho sunirṇītam idaṁ pratīhi
tvadīya-pādābja-yugasya tatra |
śubha-prayāṇaṁ na vināsya jīved
vrajaḥ kathañcin na ca kiñcid icchet ||

“[Śrī Uddhava to Śrī Kṛṣṇa in Dvārakā:] O Prabhu, please recognize this which has been rightly determined [by me]: Vraja [i.e., the people of Vraja] cannot live [any longer] without an auspicious journey of this pair of lotus feet of yours there, and they shall never desire anything else [i.e., they will never be satisfied by receiving messages of love, representatives, gifts, or anything else from you, or by your presence within them in the form of the Inner Regulator (Antaryāmī)].”
Commentary
Śrī Sanātana Gosvāmīpāda comments that by describing the pair of Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s feet with a demonstrative pronoun (asya), Śrī Uddhava conveys that Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s feet are supremely sweet and captivating of the heart (asya parama-madhura-manoharasya tvat-pādābja-yugalasya), and he also negates the idea that the people of Vraja can ever be satisfied and thus able to live on happily just by honoring the presence of the Inner Regulator (Antaryāmī) or any other form of Kṛṣṇa than the one they know to be his from their personal experience with him in Vraja (asyety anena Antaryāmi-rūpatānya-rūpatāpi sarvā nirākṛtā). By describing the people of Vraja as never desiring anything except the auspiciousness of the arrival of Śrī Kṛṣṇa in their midst in Vraja (tatra Vraje śubhaṁ maṅgala-rūpaṁ prayāṇaṁ), he conveys that they never desire messages of love and so on (na ca kiñcit prema-sandeśa-patrādikam api icchet); they want him personally in their company in Vraja and nothing else.
