Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu

avijñātākhila-kleśāḥ

avijñātākhila-kleśāḥ sadā kṛṣṇāśrita-kriyāḥ |
siddhāḥ syuḥ santata-prema-saukhyāsvāda-parāyaṇāḥ ||
samprāpta-siddhayaḥ siddhā nitya-siddhāś ca te dvidhā ||
(Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu: 2.1.280–281)

“[The characteristics of siddha Kṛṣṇa-bhaktas are described:] Those to whom all affliction is unknown, whose actions are always sheltered in Kṛṣṇa, and who are constantly absorbed in relishing the happiness of prema are siddhas. These siddhās are of two types: those who have attained siddhi and those who are eternally siddha.”

utpanna-ratayaḥ samyaṅ

utpanna-ratayaḥ samyaṅ nairvighnyam anupāgatāḥ |
kṛṣṇa-sākṣātkṛtau yogyāḥ sādhakāḥ parikīrtitāḥ ||

“[The characteristics of sādhaka Kṛṣṇa-bhaktas are described:] Those in whom rati is manifest yet have not become completely unimpeded, and who are fit for realization of Kṛṣṇa, are said to be sādhakas.”

tad-bhāva-bhāvita-svāntāḥ kṛṣṇa-bhaktā itīritāḥ ||
te sādhakāś ca siddhāś ca dvi-vidhāḥ parikīrtitāḥ ||

“[The definition of a Kṛṣṇa-bhakta:] Those whose hearts are imbued with that bhāva [i.e., their particular, highly exalted and personally desired rati for Kṛṣṇa] are called Kṛṣṇa-bhaktas. … They are said to be of two types: sādhakas and siddhas.”

ahaṁ bhakta-parādhīno hy asvatantra iva dvija |
sādhubhir grasta-hṛdayo bhaktair bhakta-jana-priyaḥ ||

[Viṣṇu to Durvāsā:] “O brāhmaṇa, I am completely controlled by my bhaktas. Indeed, it is as though I am not independent. My heart is captured by the sādhus, my bhaktas, as I hold my bhaktas dear [and so also those who belong to my bhaktas].”

[The nāga-patnīs to Śrī Kṛṣṇa:] “Those who have taken shelter in the dust of your feet desire neither the domain of Dhruva, nor dominion over the entire earth, nor the post of Brahmā, nor reign over Pātāla, nor the siddhis of yoga, nor even non-repetition of birth [i.e., mokṣa].”

alaukika-padārthānām acintyā śaktir īdṛśī |
bhāvaṁ tad-viṣayaṁ cāpi yā sahaiva prakāśayet ||
(Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu: 1.2.244)

“Such is the inconceivable śakti of these [five] extraordinary things [i.e., limbs of bhakti], which manifest simultaneously bhāva and its object [i.e., Śrī Kṛṣṇa].”

durūhādbhuta-vīrye’smin

durūhādbhuta-vīrye’smin śraddhā dūre’stu pañcake |
yatra svalpo’pi sambandhaḥ sad-dhiyāṁ bhāva-janmane ||

“Let alone having śraddhā in them [i.e., performing them with śraddhā], even slight connection with these five [limbs of bhakti of difficult to comprehend and wonderful power [i.e., even slight performance without śraddhā of sādhu-saṅga, nāma-kīrtana, Bhāgavata-śravaṇa, Mathurā-vāsa, or śrī-mūrti-sevā] gives rise to bhāva in those of pure mind [i.e., those whose minds are free from aparādha].”

“Upon hearing defamation of Bhagavān or persons devoted to him, even one who does not move away from there looses one’s sukṛti and falls down.”
