तास्तु तस्य विलासांस्तान्गायन्त्यो विविशुर्व्रजम् ।
दिनमारेभिरे नेतुं ध्यायन्त्यस्तस्य सङ्गमम् ॥
tās tu tasya vilāsāṁs tān gāyantyo viviśur vrajam |
dinam ārebhire netuṁ dhyāyantyas tasya saṅgamam ||
(Bṛhad Bhāgavatāmṛta: 2.6.190)
“They [i.e., the gopīs], however, singing of those pastimes of his, entered Vraja and began to spend the day meditating on his companionship.”
Commentary
This verse explains how the gopīs spent the day in the village after Śrī Kṛṣṇa departed in the morning for the forest. “Those” (tān) pastimes of his refers to delightful pastimes of rāsa and so on with him, or to those described in the Yugala-gītā (tān rāsādīn ramyān vā ‘vāma-bāhu-kṛta-vāma-kapolaḥ’ ity-ādy-uktān). “Companionship” (saṅgamam) refers to past and future enjoyment or union with him (saṅgamaṁ sambhogaṁ saṁyogaṁ vā taṁ ca bhūtaṁ bhāvinaṁ vā).
