pada-kāntyā jita-madano
mukha-kāntyā khaṇḍita-kamala-maṇi-garvaḥ |
śrī-rūpāśrita-caraṇaḥ
kṛpayatu mayi gaura-govindaḥ ||

“May Gaura Govinda—
He by the splendor of whose feet
Madana [i.e., Kāma] is vanquished,
He by the splendor of whose face
The pride of lotuses and jewels is crushed,
He at whose feet Śrī Rūpa has taken shelter—
Bestow grace upon me.”

mithaḥ kaṭākṣāśuga-kīlitāntarau
rādhā-mukundau praṇamāmi tau mudā ||

“Lightning and cloud figures,
Cloud and lighting garments,
Naturally and mildly smiling, beautiful faces,
Hearts pierced by the arrows
Of one another’s side-long glances—

smaraṇaṁ kīrtanaṁ keliḥ prekṣaṇaṁ guhya-bhāṣaṇam |
saṅkalpo’dhyavasāyaś ca kriyā-nivṛttir eva ca ||
etan maithunam aṣṭāṅgaṁ pravadanti manīṣiṇaḥ |
viparītaṁ brahmacaryam etad evāṣṭa-lakṣaṇam ||

“Remembering, mentioning, playing [alt., joking], looking, conversing privately, fancying, pursuing, and completing the act [itself]—the wise say these are the eight aspects of intercourse. The opposite of these are the eight characteristics of brahmacarya.”
