Śraddhā

satāṁ prasaṅgān mama vīrya-saṁvido

satāṁ prasaṅgān mama vīrya-saṁvido
bhavanti hṛt-karṇa-rasāyanāḥ kathāḥ |
taj-joṣaṇād āśv apavarga-vartmani
śraddhā ratir bhaktir anukramiṣyati ||

“As a result of extensive association with sādhus, discussions [of me] become full perceptions of my potency and elixirs for the heart and the ears. By cherishing them, swiftly śraddhā, rati (bhāva), and bhakti (prema) to I who am the path to liberation will manifest in succession.”

ācāra-prabhavo dharmaḥ santaś cācāra-lakṣaṇāḥ

ācāra-prabhavo dharmaḥ santaś cācāra-lakṣaṇāḥ |
sādhūnāṁ ca yathā vṛttaṁ sa sad-ācāra iṣyate ||
tasmāt kuryāt sad-ācāraṁ ya icched gatim ātmanaḥ |
sarva-lakṣaṇa-hīno’pi samudācāravān nṛpa |
śraddadhāno’nasūyaś ca sarvān kāmān avāpnuyāt ||
(Bhaviṣyottara Purāṇa; cited in Hari-bhakti-vilāsa 3.15–16)

“The source of dharma is ācāra (conduct), and sādhus are characterized by ācāra. The behavior of sādhus is called sadācāra. Therefore, one who desires one’s own good fortune should engage in sadācāra. O King, even if devoid of all [other] characteristics, one who has excellent ācāra (sadācāra), is endowed with śraddhā, and is free from envy can fulfill all one’s desires.”

guruḥ śāstraṁ śraddhā rucir anugatiḥ siddhir iti me

guruḥ śāstraṁ śraddhā rucir anugatiḥ siddhir iti me
yad etat tat sarvaṁ caraṇa-kamalaṁ rājati yayoḥ |
kṛpā-mādhvīkena snapita-nayanāmbhoja-yugalau
sadā rādhā-kṛṣṇāv aśaraṇa-gatī tau mama gatiḥ ||
(Bhakti Sandarbha: 340)

“Guru, śāstra, śraddhā,
Taste (ruci), service (anugati), and attainment (siddhi)—
Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa,
Whose lotus feet manifest as all of these to me,
Whose lotus eyes are always moistened
With the nectar of grace,
And who are the shelter of the refugeless,
Are ever my shelter.”

[Śrī Kṛṣṇa:] “O Nārada, if you have śraddhā in prema-bhakti and you desire my grace, then with bhāva become a worshiper of Rādhā.”

śoṇa-snigdhāṅguli-dala-kulaṁ jāta-rāgaṁ parāgaiḥ

śoṇa-snigdhāṅguli-dala-kulaṁ jāta-rāgaṁ parāgaiḥ
śrī-rādhāyāḥ stana-mukulayoḥ kuṅkuma-kṣoda-rūpaiḥ |
bhakta-śraddhā-madhu-nakha-mahaḥ-puñja-kiñjalka-jālaṁ
jaṅghā-nālaṁ caraṇa-kamalaṁ pātu naḥ pūtanāreḥ ||

“[Consisting of] The stem of his shanks,
The petals of his crimson, tender toes,
The filament cluster of the radiance of his toenails,
And the nectar of bhaktas’ śraddhā,
And reddened by the pollen
Of the ground kumkum from the buds of Śrī Rādhā’s breasts—
May the lotus of the feet of Pūtanā’s Foe protect us.”

mahāprasāde govinde nāma-brahmaṇi vaiṣṇave |
svalpa-puṇya-vatāṁ rājan viśvāso naiva jāyate ||

“O King, faith in mahāprasāda, Govinda, the name [i.e., Bhagavān‘s name], the Veda, and the Vaiṣṇava certainly does not arise in those possessed of little piety.”

syāc ced īśa-didṛkṣā nāmni śraddhāṁ dṛḍhāṁ sadā kuruta |
satyāsatya-vivekaṁ nityaṁ cānena tattva-vijñānam ||

“One who desires to see the Lord should always have firm śraddhā in the name [of the Lord] and always discriminate between truth and falsity. By this realization of the reality manifests.”

ihāra prasāde pābe kṛṣṇa-tattva-sāra |
sarva-śāstra-siddhāntera ihā̐ pāibe pāra ||

“O bhaktas, hear this līlā with śraddhā. By its grace, you will attain Caitanya’s feet. By its grace, you will attain the essence of Kṛṣṇa-tattva. In it, you will attain the limit of the siddhānta of all the śāstras.”

etan mahākhyāna-varaṁ mahā-hareḥ
kāruṇya-sārālaya-niścayārthakam |
yaḥ śraddhayā saṁśrayate kathañcana 
prāpnoti tat-prema tathaiva so’py aram ||
(Bṛhad-Bhāgavatāmṛta: 1.7.160)

“Anyone who somehow [i.e., by śravaṇa, kīrtana, or otherwise] takes full shelter [i.e., becomes fully absorbed] with śraddhā in this most excellent narration—the purpose of which is determining the recipient of the essence of the great Hari’s grace—quickly attains that very prema for him [i.e., and so all the more so does one who engages in the process bhajana it describes].”
