bhāgavate bhagavat-pratipādake śrī-bhāgavate vā | anyatra śāstrādau anindām |
(Dig-darśinī-ṭīkā on Hari-bhakti-vilāsa: 10.500)

‘Bhāgavate’ means in that [śāstra] which describes Bhagavān, or Śrī Bhāgavata [i.e., Śrīmad Bhāgavatam]. Non-defamation ‘otherwise’ (anyatra) means in regard to śāstras and so forth [i.e., in regard to śāstras other than those which describe Bhagavān and in regard to sources of knowledge other than śāstras].”
