Līlā-smaraṇa

grāmya-kathā nā śunibe, grāmya-vārtā nā kahibe

grāmya-kathā nā śunibe, grāmya-vārtā nā kahibe |
bhāla nā khāibe, āra bhāla nā paribe ||
amānī mānada kṛṣṇa-nāma sadā labe |
vraje rādhā-kṛṣṇa-sevā mānase karibe ||
(Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta: Antya-līlā, 6.236–7)

“Do not listen to village talk, and do not speak of village matters. Do not eat fancy food, and do not wear fancy clothes. [Remaining] Undesirous of honor and respectful [to others], always take Kṛṣṇa’s name and within your heart engage in service to Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa in Vraja.”

ataeva gopī-bhāva kari aṅgīkāra |
rātri-dine cinte rādhā-kṛṣṇera vihāra ||
siddha-deha cinti kare tāhā̐i sevana |
sakhī-bhāve pāya rādhā-kṛṣṇera caraṇa ||
(Caitanya-caritāmṛta: 2.8.227–8)

“[Rāmānanda Rāya to Śrīman Mahāprabhu:] Therefore, accept the bhāva of the gopīs and think of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa’s play night and day. Thinking of one’s siddha-deha, engage in service specifically there [i.e., in Vraja]. With the bhāva of a sakhī, one attains the feet of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa.”

‘bāhya’ ‘abhyantara’ ihāra dui ta sādhana |
bāhya—sādhaka-dehe kare śravaṇa-kīrtana ||
mane—nija siddha-deha kariyā bhāvana |
rātri-dine kare vraje kṛṣṇera sevana ||
(Caitanya-caritāmṛta: 2.22.151–2)

“It [i.e., rāgānugā-bhakti] has two sādhanas: the external and the internal. The external is that in the sādhaka body one engages in hearing and chanting. In the mind [i.e., in the internal form of sādhana], one thinks of one’s own siddha-deha and night and day engages in service to Kṛṣṇa in Vraja.”

ativādāṁs titikṣeta

ativādāṁs titikṣeta nāvamanyeta kañcana |
na cemaṁ deham āśritya vairaṁ kurvīta kenacit ||
(Śrīmad Bhāgavatam: 12.6.34)

“One should tolerate harsh speech and should not disrespect anyone [i.e., even those who disrespect oneself]. One should not take shelter of this [sāṁsārika] body and create enmity with anyone.”

śrī-rūpa-darśita-diśā likhitāṣṭa-kālyā
śrī-rādhikeśa-kṛta-keli-tatir mayeyam |
sevāsya yogya-vapuṣāniśam atra cāsyā
rāgādhva-sādhaka-janair manasā vidheyā ||
(Govinda-līlāmṛta: 23.94)

“This profusion of play performed by Śrī Rādhikā’s Īśa throughout the eight times [of the day] has been written by me following the direction shown [to me] by Śrī Rūpa. Sevā to him [i.e., Śrī Kṛṣṇa] and to her [i.e., Śrī Rādhikā] herein [i.e., within this līlā throughout the eight times of the day, or, here in Śrī Vṛndāvana] is to be performed continuously by sādhakas on the path of rāga with a befitting form within the mind.”
