“Those who are devoid of bhakti to Bhagavān are certainly the foremost of the impious (asat). Their destiny will never be auspiciousness, even if they are of noble conduct.”

(Dig-darśinī-ṭīkā: 10.301)
“Although those attached to women and those fixed on gratifying the genitals and belly are indeed determined to be impious [i.e., non-sādhus], still non-bhaktas are certainly the foremost among the impious because they are bearers of all faults on account of their absence of bhakti to Bhagavān. Therefore, no auspiciousness will ever come about by any means for them. To affirm [the importance of] sat-saṅga, this verse is written (bhagavad-bhakti …). They [i.e., non-bhaktas of Bhagavān] are the foremost of the impious. This means, they are supremely impious. ‘Destiny‘ (niṣṭhā) means fate, that which they will attain.”
