vidyud-ghanāṅgau ghana-vidyud-ambarau
nisarga-manda-smita-sundarānanau |
mithaḥ kaṭākṣāśuga-kīlitāntarau
rādhā-mukundau praṇamāmi tau mudā ||

“Lightning and cloud figures,
Cloud and lighting garments,
Naturally and mildly smiling, beautiful faces,
Hearts pierced by the arrows
Of one another’s side-long glances—
Joyfully I offer obeisance to them,
Rādhā and Mukunda.”

kṛpā-marandānvita-pāda-paṅkajaṁ
śvetāmbaraṁ gaura-ruciṁ sanātanam |
śandaṁ sumālyābharaṇaṁ guṇālayaṁ
smarāmi sad-bhaktimayaṁ guruṁ harim ||

“The eternal, beneficent abode of virtue filled with pure bhakti and possessed of lotus feet replete the nectar of grace, white cloth, golden luster, and the adornment of a fine garland—I meditate upon the guru, [who is] Hari.”

vande’haṁ śrī-guroḥ śrī-yuta-pada-kamalaṁ śrī-gurūn vaiṣṇavāṁś ca
śrī-rūpaṁ sāgrajātaṁ saha-gaṇa-raghunāthānvitaṁ taṁ sa-jīvam |
sādvaitaṁ sāvadhūtaṁ parijana-sahitaṁ kṛṣṇa-caitanya-devaṁ
śrī-rādhā-kṛṣṇa-pādān saha-gaṇa-lalitā-śrī-viśākhānvitāṁś ca ||

“I offer obeisance to the blessed lotus feet of śrī guru;
To [all my] śrī gurus
And the Vaiṣṇavas;
To him, Śrī Rūpa,
Along with his elder brother,
Accompanied by Raghunātha and associates,
And along with Jīva;
To Kṛṣṇa Caitanyadeva
Along with Advaita,
Along with the Avadhūta,
And accompanied by attendants;
And to the feet of Śrī Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa
Accompanied by Lalitā, Śrī Viśākhā, and associates.”

bāri matheṁ ghṛta hoi baru sikatā te baru tela |
binu hari bhajana na bhava taria yaha siddhāṁta apela ||
(Rāma-carita-mānasa: 7.122)
“Ghee coming from churning water may be possible, and oil coming from pressing sand may be possible, but crossing over material existence without Hari-bhajana is not possible. This is the unshakable conclusion (siddhānta).”

āsevitaṁ varṣa-pūgān ṣaḍ-vargaṁ viṣayeṣu saḥ |
kṣaṇena mumuce nīḍaṁ jāta-pakṣa iva dvijaḥ ||

“In a moment he abandoned the ṣaḍ-varga [i.e., the six senses] that had been fully engaged in objects of the senses for many years just like a bird with [newly] grown wings [abandons] a nest.”
