Laziness

ālasyaṁ hi manuṣyāṇāṁ

ālasyaṁ hi manuṣyāṇāṁ śarīrastho mahān ripuḥ |
nāsty udyama-samo bandhuḥ kurvāṇo nāvasīdati ||
(Nīti-śataka: 86)

“The great enemy situated in the body of human beings is laziness, and there is no friend [to them] like endeavor. One who acts never comes to ruin.”

alaso manda-buddhiś ca

alaso manda-buddhiś ca sukhī ca vyādhi-pīḍitaḥ |
nidrāluḥ kāmukaś caiva ṣaḍ ete śāstra-varjitāḥ ||

“The lazy, the dull-witted, the happy-go-lucky, those plagued by disease, the slumberous, and the lustful—these six are excluded by śāstra [i.e., they lack the qualifications needed to follow the teachings given in the śāstra and thus the teachings of the śāstra are not applicable to them; they will not attain the ideals taught in śāstra, and those who wish to attain such ideals should avoid their association].”

svādhikāraṁ nirīkṣyaiva karma kuryād atandritaḥ |
(Padma Purāṇa: 6.283.38)

“One free from laziness should engage in action only after having considered one‘s eligibility (adhikāra).”
