ananyāś cintayanto māṁ ye janāḥ paryupāsate |
teṣāṁ nityābhiyuktānāṁ yoga-kṣemaṁ vahāmyaham ||
(Śrīmad Bhagavad-gītā: 9.22)
“I [personally] provide the acquisition and protection [of the bodily necessities] of those one-pointed, meditative, and ever-absorbed persons who worship me in full.”
cañcalaṁ hi manaḥ kṛṣṇa pramāthi balavad dṛḍham |
tasyāhaṁ nigrahaṁ manye vāyor iva suduṣkaram ||
(Śrīmad Bhagavad-gītā: 6.34)
“O Kṛṣṇa, because the mind is restless, agitating, powerful, and obstinate, I consider controlling it, like [trying to control] the wind, extremely difficult.”
ajñaś cāśraddadhānaś ca saṁśayātmā vinaśyati |
nāyaṁ loko’sti na paro na sukhaṁ saṁśayātmanaḥ ||
(Śrīmad Bhagavad-gītā: 4.40)
“One who is ignorant [i.e., devoid of knowledge of śāstra], devoid of śraddhā [as a result of observing differences of opinion about the meaning of śāstra], and doubtful [regarding whether something will actually lead to success] is ruined. Neither this world [i.e., any future prospect of well-being in this world], nor the next [i.e., any prospect of attaining a desirable afterlife], nor happiness [i.e., any present sense of satisfaction] exist for one who is doubtful.”
karmaṇy evādhikāras te mā phaleṣu kadācana |
mā karma-phala-hetur bhūr mā te saṅgo’stv akarmaṇi ||
(Śrīmad Bhagavad-gītā: 2.47)
“Your eligibility is only for karma, and never for [partaking of] the results. May you not be a cause of results of your karma [i.e., may you not perform karma out of desire for the results], and may you have no attachment to non-karma [i.e., non-performance of your karma, or, committing sin].”
kṛṣṇa-bhakti-rasāsvādavatāṁ kiṁ syān na sundaram ||
(Bṛhad Bhāgavatāmṛta: 2.4.39)
“For those who taste the rasa of Kṛṣṇa-bhakti, what shall not be beautiful?”
cakṣur vinā yathā dīpaṁ dṛṣṭvā darpaṇam eva ca |
samīpasthā na paśyanti tathā viṣṇuṁ bahirmukhāḥ ||
(Padma Purāṇa: 6.132.55)
“As the blind do not see a lamp or a mirror situated nearby even after looking towards it, so the averse do not see Viṣṇu [situated nearby, i.e, invariably present everywhere always].”
yadā carmavad ākāśaṁ veṣṭayiṣyanti mānavāḥ |
tadā devam avijñāya duḥkhasyānto bhaviṣyati ||
(Śvetāśvatara Upaniṣad: 6.20)
“When human beings are able to roll up the sky like leather, then [their] suffering will come to an end without understanding Deva.”
bhayaṁ dvitīyābhiniveśataḥ syād
īśād apetasya viparyayo’smṛtiḥ |
tan-māyayāto budha ābhajet taṁ
bhaktyaikayeśaṁ guru-devatātmā ||

“Non-awareness, misapprehension, and fear because of absorption in a second shall occur by means of Īśa’s māyā for one who is averse to him. Therefore, a wise person, being one for whom the guru is the Devatā and the self (ātmā), should fully worship him, Īśa [i.e., Bhagavān] with one-pointed bhakti.”
na rarājoḍupaś channaḥ sva-jyotsnā-rājitair ghanaiḥ |
ahaṁ-matyā bhāsitayā sva-bhāsā puruṣo yathā ||
(Śrīmad Bhāgavatam: 10.20.19)
“The moon covered by clouds illuminated by its own light does not shine, just as the puruṣa [i.e., the jīva, or, the Supreme Īśvara] covered by egotism [i.e., avidyā, ignorance] illuminated by its own light [i.e., consciousness] does not [shine either].”
