(Bṛhad Bhāgavatāmṛta: 1.7.141–142)

“[Śrī Nārada to Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa:]
O you who are unsatiated by your own giving
[Alt., O you who are unsatiated even by giving your own self]!
I have now become successful in my effort:
I have acquired in-depth knowledge
Of the recipients of your paramount grace.
This attained boon itself attained
Is accepted [by me] as [your] favor
And as most excellent.”

Commentary

Śrī Sanātana Gosvāmīpāda explains in his commentary on these verses that “the recipients of your paramount grace” spoken of here by Śrī Nārada are the blessed gopīs of Vraja (tvadīya-mahākaruṇāyāḥ pātrāṇāṁ janānāṁ … tā bhagavatyo gopya eva), and that Śrī Nārada’s intent in these verses is to convey that he considers the in-depth knowledge he has attained of the gopīs’ being the recipients of Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s paramount grace is itself be the highest favor he has received from Śrī Kṛṣṇa (ayaṁ tad-vijñāna-prāpti-rūpa eva varaḥ prāpto mayā, ayam eva bhavato’nugrahaś ca uttamaḥ śreṣṭho mataḥ).
